Big Band Dancing

Central California Big Band Dance Society

Welcome to Central California Big Band Dance Society!

President's September Letter

"Lead People To The Life Changing Love of Music Through Dancing" is not simply our motto.  We see it happening! More First Timers and Long Time Absent Guests are arriving each month. Whistlestop #9 entertained about 150 music lovers.  Musicians play better and vocalists sing better when they perform for a happy audience.  Joe Lenigan's Band loves music and it shows!!  Thanks to all for a great dance.

Dancing brings a unique group of individuals together to share a common interest.  It's what got Judy Thompson to search for a dance class when she moved from Portland to Fresno.  A class with Mario also introduced her to CCBBDS.  That seems like just yesterday.  During the past few years we have shared many good times.  Now we are having to say Good-bye.  Judy is moving to Idaho in early October.  She has served us this year as Board Secretary.  Judy brought knowledge and efficiency to her important role.  We will miss her and wish her Life's Best.  Thank you Judy!

Speaking of moving ... CCBBDS is on the move as well.  In 2016, our new dance venue will be THE GRAND 1401 (1401 North Fulton Street, Fresno @ Tuolomne).  Located in the former PG&E skyscraper, THE GRAND offers each of us an unusual ballroom experience.  Our Location Committee, chaired by Steve Moore, considered more than twenty venues.  THE GRAND stood out as unique and nostalgic.  A sneak preview was shared at our September dance.  More details and maps will be available in coming months.  We remain at the DoubleTree for three more exciting dances; October 11, November 8 and December 6th.  Invite friends and family to attend these next dances.  Attendance builing is important to our success now and into the future.  Each of you are the best promoters we could ever wish for.

Next Stop - October 11th (2nd Sunday) - DoubleTree by Hilton - Stardusters.  Halloween, if you dare?

All Aboard
