Big Band Dancing

Central California Big Band Dance Society

Welcome to Central California Big Band Dance Society!

President's letter June, 2015

Teamwork is defined as cooperative effort by the members of a group . . . to achieve a common goal.  This definition was put in practice at our June 7th dance.  Blessed by a great turnout of 150 people, teamwork was needed between our Board, our Band, our Guests and the Hotel Staff to make us comfortable.  With everyone's cooperation, we had a Roaring Good Time!

Whistlestop #6 took us on a journey back in time to the Roaring 20's.  Our ballroom decor was outfitted with vintage 1920's and 1930's fashion accessories.  A special thank you to JoAnn Burton and Helen Scharf for loaning these beautiful items from their exclusive collections.  Top hats, fedoras, flappers and feathers adorned our swinging dancers.  Joe Lenigan's musicians and vocalists kept everyone moving to the beat.  Thank you to all who attended.

"All Aboard in 2015" has reached a total of 181 members (90.5% of Goal)  Thank you again to our new and renewed members for supporting our Membership Drive.  We have more Whistlestops planned for this year and I am certain members will be proud of what we accomplish.

Thanks to the support for our Raffle drawings, CCBBDS is proud to announce that Sequoia Lake Music Camp and La Sierra Music Camp - Clovis, has each received a $1,400.00 donation for their camp program.  Directors of each camp will select deserving music students to be recipients.  Thanks to Steve Moore, Board Member and Scholarship Chairman for his work on this program.

Next Stop - Sunday, July 5th - DoubleTree by Hilton - Stardusters Band.  Celebrate the Red, White and Blue!
